In Lakeville our mission is to provide a working and enjoyable community.
We strive to create a safe and welcoming
hometown environment for everyone who visits and resides in the Town of Lakeville.
Your Town Council works hard to establish Town budgets, pass ordinances and resolutions regarding the Town and establishes salaries for Town employees.
A big part of the decision making are per department towards the maintenance to keep our Town running,
This includes, but not limited to:
Town Meetings are the 1st Monday monthly @ 6PM.
Town Work Sessions are the 3rd Thursday monthly @ 6PM
Location: Town Hall
*Meetings are subject to change due to Holidays
Lakeville's current Water Tower built in 1965 is at the end of its lifespan and needs replacing.
In order to cushion the expense for residents the Town applied for the following:
$4,000,000 Grant from the State of Indiana
$1,000,000 ARPA funding from St. Joseph County
The Town will then secure a SRF Bond at 0% interest for the following amount:
$5,412,000 which will be paid over time. This is why your are seeing increases in water billing rates.
This Council has also created a fund for the next water tower after this project. This fund is funded by residents on their water bill and was created at the end of 2022.
The State of Indiana does not supply towns money to replace Water or Sewer Infrastructure or Streets. A Town finds grants and other funding and billing rates to maintain these 3 very important amenities.
